Ladies’ Badminton Wednesday 1.00-3.30pm in the Bradley Hall
Every Wednesday afternoon the church hall is filled with the sounds of racquets, shuttlecocks and laughter (and screams). Over 35 years ago the Ballycrochan Ladies (‘girls’, I mean) Badminton Club was formed and it is still going strong today. Currently we have 14 members and welcome church members and non-church members. We usually play four games of badminton doubles and we always manage to squeeze in the ever important tea or coffee and biscuits. We enjoy the exercise, fun, sharing stories, moments and photos from our everyday life and maintaining the fellowship that’s kept the club alive for so long. New faces are always welcome.
Bowling Club Thursday 7.15pm-9.00pm in the Bradley Hall
Every Thursday we arrive in the church hall from 7.15 pm and, hopefully, have picked teams and started playing by 7.30 pm. At the moment our membership is about 18 with an average attendance of 12 –16. We have a mixture of ability and anyone new to the club is made welcome and given basic coaching if needed. What is important is that we have fun and fellowship. We do not play matches against other church clubs – we are not that competitive! But we do enjoy winning among ourselves!
Play ends about 9.00 pm when we have supper (tea and biscuits). We put in £1 each week. From that we contribute to heat and light and make other contributions to church and charity. By agreement the supper is the responsibility of the ladies while the men look after laying out the mats and gear at the start of the evening and then storing everything away before locking up and going home. If you’re free on Thursday evening, why not come and join us in the Bradley Hall?
